A Learner Centered Teaching

This approach puts the learner at the center of the educational experience and encourages them to be actively engaged in the learning process.

Let us consider first the skills necessary in learning such as reading, writing, counting, communication, problem solving, comprehension and organization. Here are my tips in creating a learner centered classroom:

 1. Make sure students feel comfortable and safe in the learning environment.

2. Encourage students to ask questions and share their ideas.

3. Use a variety of teaching strategies to engage all learners.

4. Provide opportunities for students to work in pairs and small groups.

5. Use technology to support student learning.

6. Provide feedback and assessment that is meaningful to the learner.

7. Promote collaboration and cooperation among learners.

8. Celebrate student success.

It is also very important to practice higher order thinking skills in the classroom because they are essential for success in the modern world. Higher order thinking skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, and creative thinking are necessary for success in many areas such as academic achievement, career advancement, and personal development. Higher order thinking skills allow students to make connections between concepts, analyze information, and develop their own conclusions. These skills are essential for success in todays world, and they can be developed through classroom activities and exercises.

My teaching and learning philosophy as a learner centered educator is to create an environment where students can take ownership of their own learning. I believe that students should be given the opportunity to explore, discover, and question. I strive to create a safe and supportive learning environment where students can challenge themselves, think critically, and develop problem solving skills. I also believe that students should be exposed to a variety of experiences and activities that encourage creativity and personal growth. My ultimate goal is to help students become lifelong learners who are confident in their abilities and driven to succeed.
